More ponies!
By popular demand, I am putting up these pics of the Assateague ponies with peeps around so you'd get a better perspective. Geesh, I lived in Maryland for like forever, can't believe I never went visit the ponies. Oh yeah, btw, I decided to put the Cat Censorship Scissorhands to rest for this pictorial spread, no ponies harmed while writing this entry!
Ponies and humans sharing the beach, aawwww....
What do you think? Should we charge at that woman or not? Charge!!!!
Again, thanks L for supplying these pictures!

Wild Ponies of Assateague
Maryland's Eastern Shore is beautiful. One of the most famous attractions is the wild ponies on the small Island of Assateague. Their origin is still a mystery but many speculate the ponies arrived when a Spanish galleon ship, with a cargo of horses, sank off the shores of Maryland.
Awww... it's so cute! Is it me or does it look pregnant?
Since this is a family friendly blog, I had to photoshop a certain anatomical part off of one of the ponies here...look how white the sand is...
All photos courtesy of the ever artistic L.

Bunny and Pony...
Google has been putting up special Olympic themed logos on its homepage... I especially liked this one... hehe, the little bunny rabbit reminds me so much of myself, most of the time I am just hopping around up to no good! Beep beep, Shoosh Shoosh, outa way pony!
BTW, notice the seal of Google's Chinese name on the lower right corner? In Chinese, Google's name means "song of the valley."

Field of Olympic Dreams
We are having our third game tomorrow...and in line with the Olympic spirit, we've decided to win at all cost! Including but not limited to releasing our captain's chow chow and bulldog to attack the other side's star players, having the girls wink at them, or just kicking and punching them, haha... ahhh, the roads to Olympic glory!
Here is my glove! Yeah, I know, it's pink, but it is the softest one there is... and I refused to pick one out of the youth section.

Let the games begin...
I just finished watching the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. It was a bit of a sensory overload, but in a fun sort of way. Overall, I thought it was spectacular! Job well done!
On the way back from my friends' house, I thought about what this Olympics meant to the Chinese people. The past century has been hellish for them, the Sino-Japanese War, the Chinese Civil War, the Great Leap Forward, the Culture Revolution, but they have overcome against all odds... this is their time in the sun, to celebrate their hard work and achievements, and to host a grand party for the world's athletes! I can't wait to watch all the competitions!
Of course, to do our part to celebrate, we had to exercise our jaw muscles a little by eating some yummy foods ... thanks C and D for the fantastic hot pot dinner!

Gyu Kaku BBQ
I love communal meals like Asian BBQ and Hot Pot. Today we went to a neat Japanese BBQ place called Gyu Kaku. It was so much fun, like we were back in our ancestors' times, roaming the plains, hunting venison and gathering berries and then sit together and BBQ the day's harvest...
Team Work!
Mine! Mine! Mine! We were a pack of little hungry wolves! See my strategy is, I don't fight for the meat, I just sit back and look very helpless and hungry and usually someone puts a piece of meat on my plate, hehehe...gobble gobble gobble...:-P

Beautiful California Coast!
We have by far the prettiest coastline in the union! The other forty nine states, yes Hawaii included, eat your heart out! :-P
There is a point along the beach where elephant seals rest, so lots of people were standing around watching the seals, this little girl and her mom were standing in front of me... she is so adorable! The brown blobs are the seals, not too pretty looking...
We drove up the coast to visit family friends in Pebble Beach, where the household to golf course ratio is like 5:1! I'd never seen so many golf courses in one community! A very unique looking lily from our friend's backyard!

A Castle Fit for a Princess
I went to Hearst Castle this weekend. Here it is, from afar...
Haha, I thought this was THE castle, but it turned out to be just a guest house!
Tada, here is the castle, yep it looks like the entrance to a church, if this were my house, I'd be embarrassed to bring friends home, they'd probably think I am an escaped nun or something!
Lily pond in front of the Castle entrance
The famous pool...
from another angle...it was a hot hot day, so tempted to jump in!
Now the boring part, the living room, where Mr. Hearst hung out with his pals...
The dining room...where Mr. Hearst ate with his pals...
Indoor Pool, look at the incredible reflection!
Hmmm, the Castle was nice and all, but at the end of day, I'd rather have a little house on the prairie, with my brood of little kittens! But first thing first, need to find my prince charming! Gasp, I think I ran over a toad on the way home, doh!
On the way down from the Castle, over looking the Pacific Ocean.
