Haha, I've succumbed and joined Facebook... hmm, maybe whereiscat will be obsolete soon, hopefully not though :-) Oh here is a yummy picture, my flight out of Gothenburg was delayed and I was a hungry cat, so grabbed some traditional Swedish Hor d'oeuvres.

A River Runs Through It
Parting shots from Gothenburg...I took a quick stroll around the river front... as you can see it was a spectacular day!
The Swedes are such good parkers! It was for the good of Sweden that my parents didn't immigrate there...otherwise, you'd see perfectly parked little cars and then you'd see Catmobile parked two feet from the curb, completely crooked, and wheels turned!
Little Coffee Shop
What are these plants called? I am totally blanking out on the name.
Bye bye, Gothenburg, keep up the good work with the fish dishes! Yum!

Swedish Architecture
So far, I have been impressed with the architecture in Gothenburg. Most of the buildings here look like they are from the late 1800s or the 1900s. And yet, when you step inside, many have entirely modern interiors...such as this one below. This is the breakfast area at a hotel. It used to be a narrow corridor or a courtyard surrounded by buildings. But they put up a nice glassy ceiling, and now it's an airy, bright cafe! Whoever designed this, job well done!
The fishies of Gothenburg...
...are so yummy! Ok, here is a rare type of oyster native to Gothenburg. They look like a cross between oyster and scallop. But inside, it definitely tastes of oyster, but I prefer the ones back home. This one is too metallic for my taste.
Oh, this fillet of fish is probably the bestest fillet I have ever had! They really picked out the best piece from the halibut. It was simply devine (ok, it's divine. Thank you P, our Miss Spelling Bee :-)!

A Room with a View

Hello from Gothenburg, Sweden
Attention, attention, I think Professor Cat has just made a new anthropological discovery -- the Swedes hibernate. What else could be the reason that the streets in Gothenburg are virtually deserted? See... nary a human in sight! But then, on the very same street, a spinning class is full of spinners! Hmm, weird.
Oh, here is my cute little hotel room. At first I thought I had stepped into an IKEA showroom!
Since the city is pretty much dead on a Sunday night, I went to a wine bar near the hotel and had some food before I went to bed. The Caesar salad is one of the best I've had. The shrimp here is surprisingly flavorful. The ones we have in the States tend to be bland, here, the shrimp have a taste to them, slightly salty, just flavorful.

The Power of the Spirit Fingers...
Go Dodgers! They were down two games to nothing, yet they made a comeback on their home turf last night... courtesy of Cat's and H's spirit fingers... We were late to the game, so missed the first inning, but to support our team, we did the spirit fingers, and guess what, they scored 5 runs in the first inning! Ah, the power of spirit fingers! Here, look at the beautiful field!

Madame Butterfly
M had an extra ticket to Madame Butterfly at the LA Opera so she invited me to go along! Yay, thanks M! We all know the story, an American soldier marries Cio Cio San (Cio2 San for short), then dumps her, leaving her alone with child, gasp! Evil evil. Anyhoo, it was beautifully sang by Soprano Liping Zhang... she had a really haunting quality about her. Interestingly, some of the audience members wore Chinoise type of clothing to match the Oriental theme of the Opera... Here is a recital by Soprano Ying Huang of Un Bel Di Vedremo...the famous aria from Madame Butterfly.

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head
What is this liquidy thingy falling from the sky? And where is the sun? Ahhh, the world is coming to an end! Run for your lives! Ok, maybe not (tho it seems so here in perennially sunny SoCal!). In honor of this very liquidy day, I dedicate this song to all of you!
